Lacoste

NEW YORK) On its 75th anniversary, Lacoste's spring collection paid homage to the brand's birthplace, the Basque country of the 1930s with red and black trims, wide-brimmed straw hats, and espadrilles, without straying away from its preppy and sporty tradition. "I'm more interested in a timeless elegance and for Lacoste it's about elegance being easy and chic," said designer Cristopher Lemaire. He did the classic polos, pleated skirts, and white tennis outfits which he glammed up with wide hats, headscarves, and large sunglasses. The soothing shades of deep purple and red, marine green and blue, and large polka dots and stripes uplifted the spirits of the crowd which came out to support the celebratory designer. By the end of the presentation, the verdict was unanimous-Lemaire had successfully infused the brand's preppy image with some colorful energy and a touch of retro sophistication.
