Moschino

Milan Fall 2008
Wednesday, February 20, 2008

(MILAN) Roll Call: Hilary Alexander, Anna Piaggi, Glenda Bailey, Kate Betts, Hal Rubenstein, Charla Lawhon, Franca Sozzani, Joe Zee, Joanna Coles, Ken Downing, Linda Fargo, Ron Frasch

Chic Report: Moschino's fall show was a cheeky nod to '60s dolly birds like Pattie Boyd and Jean Shrimpton. Fittingly, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" played as mop-topped models hit the runway in naval-chic black sailor pants and crisp pea coats. Cobalt blue was a crowd-pleaser, especially in the form of an embellished mini-dress, skinny pants, and gold-buttoned jacket. In the end, creative director Rosella Jardini stayed true to Moschino's roots, with flourishes like sequined, aquatic-themed patches, fringed gloves, and animal prints sprinkled throughout. "The cobalt blue is still so gorgeous, flattering, and happy," said Lucky's Kim France. "And the fringed driving gloves were completely random--in an appealing way."
